This also allows us to give you a brief tour of our space. Doors open for class 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Each Class ranges between 60 - 75 minutes includes a gentle warm- up as we expand our breathe and get our body ready to receive movement.

What is Yoga?

The physical movements and postures, plus breathing techniques. This is what most people associate with Yoga practice. Yoga probably arrived in the United States in the late 1800s, but it did not become widely known until the 1960s, as part of the youth culture’s growing interest in anything Eastern. As more became known about the beneficial effects of Yoga, it gained acceptance and respect as a valuable method for helping in the management of stress and improving health and well-being. Many physicians now recommend Yoga practice to patients at risk for heart disease, as well as those with back pain, arthritis, depression, and other chronic conditions.

What Kind of Yoga Does Jessica teach?

Slow Flow Yoga a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses that is one of the most popular styles of yoga in the United States. Also sometimes called “Vinyasa Flow Yoga,” this type of practice involves synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures.

Gentle, Restorative, or Yin Yoga a restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Poses held for 3 – 5 breaths, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle back-bends. Restorative class may hold a pose up to 10 minutes.
